Research Interests
- How the word recognition system deals with noise within the speech signal
- The effects of phonological mismatches
- The role that attention plays in auditory word recognition
Current Research Program
I have completed my dissertation ("Phonological Mismatches: How thePosition and Degree of the Mismatch Affects Spoken WordRecognition"). Currently, I am running follow-ups to my dissertation. More specifically, I am interested in some conflicting results generated by the form priming paradigm. My current line of research will help to resolve these inconsistencies. Also, I am currently a lecturer in the Psychology Department. Over the course of the next year, I will be teaching a number of classes which will include PSY 100 (Introductory Psychology), PSY 300 (Research Methods in Psychology), and PSY 310 (Sensation and Perception
Hobbies
Outside of school, enjoy working out at the gym, collecting action figures, going to movies, watching TV, spending time with friends, immersing myself in politics, and volunteering at my church.
